Key Factors

Favors Over

At a -7-point disadvantage, the Saints are huge underdogs this week, suggesting much more of a reliance on throwing than their typical approach.
Given their underlying propensities and matchup dynamics, the leading projections forecast the New Orleans Saints to pass on 60.7% of their chances: the 4th-highest clip on the slate this week.
Our trusted projections expect this game to see the largest volume of plays run among all games this week at 134.9 plays, accounting for the play styles of each team and game dynamics.
The 8th-largest volume of plays in the NFL have been called by the New Orleans Saints last year (a massive 59.4 per game on average).
The passing games of both teams (in terms of both volume and effectiveness) ought to benefit from the still "weather" conditions (i.e. zero wind) inside this dome, while rush volume may slide.

Favors Under

The Lions pass defense has conceded the 2nd-lowest Adjusted Completion% in the NFL (68.2%) to tight ends last year (68.2%).
